Belle (Beila) Rubin: Foscani > Philadelphia

My great grandmother Belle (Beila) Rubin and children, Samuel and Sima, immigrated to Philadelphia in 1926 from Focsani. Her other children also immigrated to Philadelphia: Benjamin in 1913, Bernard (?Burech) in 1921, Sherman (?Sabesc) and Shirley (?Soli) in 1923. I believe her husband Zelik died sometime between 1913 and 1923. Does anyone have any information on or recognize these Rubin family members?

Moishe Goldberg: Foscani > Philadelphia

My grandfather, Moishe Goldberg, left Foscani in 1905 and immigrated to Philadelphia. He left a wife and four children who followed him three years later. Does anyone have any information on this family? Might have been Goldberger or Goldenberg.

did your father remember a Jewish family in Focsani named Weiselberg? My grandfather was from there and he came to the US on his own in 1902 leaving his family in Focsani

my father was born in foscani and left in 1920,he is still
alive in N.Y.C.He went back to Foscani in 1982 and saw his old house.His last name on both his mothers and fathers side was Swartz.I would like any info on life in Foscani
as my father was only a baby when he immigated

I'm looking for family of Charles Marcus born abt 1887, sister Adela-Adel born abt 1886, sister Tulsa-Tillie born abt 1895. Charles immigrated about 1904 married Matilda. Adel immigrated about 1909 & married Herman Berkowitz/Bercovi. Tillie immigration unknown married Harry Beckerman. They all settled in New York area. The family was from Focsani.

Caroline Marcus married Jacob Farber, (I do not have birth/death dates or locations) and had the children:
Caroline Farber
Josef Farber
Rose Farber
Marcus (Max)Farber
Anna Farber
Simon Farber
Amelie Farber
Sigmund Farber

Marcus Farber, b. 1860 in Lanzany, Lezany or Laczany, married Mary Schanzer, b. about 1863 in Lysowa. They immigrated to Buffalo, New York in about 1907.

Marcus and Mary had the children:
Solomon Farber
Oscar Farber
Josef Farber
Natalia "Nettie" Farber
Eva Farber
Charles Farber

Natalia "Nettie" Farber married Harold Weiselberg, and they had the children Solomon Weiselberg and Harold Weiselberg.

Hello, I may have some news for you...My name is Jim Filipov and Walter was a cousin of mine. Uncle Ralph and Aunt Molly as we called them were very close to my family. I was name after Uncle Ralph. My full name is James (named after my father) and Ralph FILIPOV. We lived in Windsor Ontario Canada and visited many times. My twin brother John and I spent alot of time with Ruth and Mitzy and Zora..I also remember your Uncles John and Mike...We had a picture of your dad take when he was in the acting career...Was his stage name John Roman? No doubt you have found it by now but just in case look for the spelling Ilisesti, Romania. It is west of Suceava on highway 17 in northern Romania.

Finding Mary Amelia Fitzinger

I am searching for any information on Mary Amelia Fitzinger born abt 1847 in Prisnitz, Austria.

Mary married William Forbes he was born in Fife, Scotland 30 March 1844, about 1870 in Selvia on the Danube, Sulina, Romania.

Mary was the daughter of Antone Fitzinger, musician (no other information.

Mary Fitzinger and William Forbes had 1 daughter Agnes Mary Forbes she was born abt 1878 in Solina (Sulina) Romania.
By the year 1894 the family was living in Australia with William being an Engineer.

I would appreciate any information on this family.

I haven't looked on this site in years...just came across it and saw what you posted.

My ggrandfather Moshe Strulovich only had 3 children - 2 daughters and one son who never married. There is no other Moshe Strulovich that I am aware of...although its always possible there is something i'm missing. The Hersh Tzvi i know of is Moshe's father and not vice versa. Do you know your ggggrandfather's (Moshe's father's) name?

Searching for any one researching these families. Franz Wendling, son of Wilhelm Wendling and Anna Knieling, born 19 Sep 1892 in Illischestie, Bukovina, Romania who married Johanna Zachmann born 12 Feb 1906 also in Illischestie, daughter of Franz Zachmann and Luise Irion.

Thank you for replying! My grandfather's birth name is Nicolai Hunceac. He was born in Bourati, Bukovina, Austria, Roumania (which now part of the Ukraine) in 1904. He immigrated to canada around 1920. i believe he had a brother by the name of Bill or William. I also believe he had a cousin with whom he came to canada with. If you have any information on your grandfather and his origin I would love to hear about it.

I found in my grand-father's Inmigration Document to SOuth America. The name Hunceac. I'm not sure if its mispelled. The name we took was HUnchak, but I don't think Hunchak is his last name.

Hello, I don't know if this will help you, but the easiest way
to locate family is to contact the mayor's office in the town in which you were born in. Another way, is to find a Romanian
Culture Center in your area now, explain the situation and they may be able to help.
