Mary,

I am also looking for more information on my Turk ancestors. My grandfather is Joseph Turk (b. 05/02/1917 Calumet, MI and d. 04/07/1995 Sheboygen, WI). His parents were Stephen Turk and Josephine Paulen of Slovenia. Stephen was born 10/12/1876 or 1873 in Stopic, Slovenia, and died 07/15/1960 in Milwaukee, WI (I think). Josephine was born 04/01/1880 or 1878 in Novedu Mesta, Slovania, and died 10/03/1948 in Milwaukee, WI (I think). They were married 06/10/1901 in Calumet, MI. My great grandfather Stephen was a copper miner in Calumet for a time before relocating the family to Milwaukee, WI where he operated a tavern. I believe most of or all of thier children were born while they lived in Calumet, MI but not for sure. They had 8 children and only 7 that I know lived to adulthood.

I am looking for the parents and siblings and further history on my great grandfathers family. Any information connecting my great grandfather to the rest of the Turks would be greatly appreciated. I have looked in a few Calumet forums, databased, etc. and haven't been able to locate Stephen Turk. Can you help me?
