Tim, what's the difference between Ellenich/Elenich and Ilinich, and Linich? I belive they are all variations of the same name. I have an Joseph Elenich who married a cousin in Detroit area, and Mary Ilinich who married John Plautz in Red Jacket. She had three sisters and her mother's name was Kate Wertin. This would have been before 1900. I also have Gerdesich, Vertin, Plautz, and Stefantz relatives in Manistique.
