Hi all. Since my Dad's coming to Canada in 1965, my family has used Buzan. Back in the "old country" it still remains in it's original form of Bužan. The family originates from the village of Črnica, what is now a Croatian village right on the border with Slovenia in Istria. The family however, as with the village, is Slovenian. We don't come from rich roots and not much is known beyond my Grandparents level. If anyone has Ugrin or Bužan family knowledge from Istria, let's chat. We may be cousins!
Also, our family has never been able to find records of what truly happened to my grandfather, Anton Bužan. He went missing in 1944 after being captured by the Germans for resistance activity. He was last seen at San Sabba "The Rice Factory" concentration camp outside of Trieste, Italy. We believe he was put on a train to Cologne but from there the trail went completely cold.
Thanks everyone,
Mark
