I think there is a connection between your grandfather Michael Drozdak (1912-1995) and my father's family. Was your grandfather married to Anna Tahla (b. 1910 in Passaic NJ; d. 2010 in Weatherly PA)? If so, I would be interested in knowing if your grandmother Anna's mother's name was Mary (b. abt 1890 in Galicia; d. some time before 1935 in PA). I don't know Mary's maiden name (do you?) or just where Galicia is (again, do you?). My recent ancestry research, however, especially records from the 1930s, shows that Mary was the second wife of Michael Tahla/Tyahla (b. 1875 in Vienna, Austria; d. 1948 in Northumberland, PA). Here's the connection: Michael Tahla/Tyahla was my paternal grandfather. His first wife (Hermina Blasko 1884-1956) was my grandmother. I never knew before now that my grandfather Michael had remarried. In fact, when asked, my father always said that his father "went off to war and never returned"--the war being the Spanish-American. I always assumed my grandfather died long before I was born. I guess not if he was living in PA with a second wife (Mary) and a daughter (Anna)! If any of what I have written here makes sense to you, I would appreciate any info and comments you may have.
Thanks very much,
