Michael KORNAFEL was born Oct. 25, 1921 in East Chicago, Indiana.
His parents were: Danko (Dan) KORNAFEL
Tatianna (Tanka) CIURA/CSURA/CHURA
(found spelled all three ways in various family records)

Both Daniel and Tanko were born in Preluki, Ukraine, Galicia.
His siblings were: Anna, Mary and Steve KORNAFEL

Michael KORNAFEL married my mother Martha Joan POLK. This was her second marriage. Her first marriage was to William
Louis BALOG.

Children of Martha and Wm. Balog: Patricia and Cheryl BALOG

Michael KORNAFEL adopted Patricia and Cheryl when they were
very young.

Michael and Martha KORNAFEL had children: Michael Clark and
Marcia Michelle KORNAFEL.

He was a wonderful father figure and loving husband to my
mother.

Towards the end of his life he suffered from diabetes, high
blood pressure, stroke and dementia. He suffered a broken
hip. His pain became increasingly worse. He died in
excruciating pain.

He was indeed a father to me.
