What is the name and birth date of the brother that stayed in Romania (Ukraine)? The family name in Ostritsia may have been slightly changed over the years... Your family name would have been changed from Romanian to Ukrainian.
The name Palaghian should either be spelled with only a 'g' or 'h', they are never used together. Using both, the name in Cyrillic would look like this: Палаґгян
Note:
г -transliterated : h, pronounced as h in horn
ґ -transliterated : g, pronounced as g in get (this alphabet is no longer used.. it is no longer on the keyboard).
There are many families by the name Paladian still living in Ostritsia. You must have some family names that you searched on the LDS films, up to 1933. I can provide you with addresses, if you wish to write to the village.

You stated… According to LDS microfilm their children listed were Joan b 1914, Dimitrie b. 1916 Veronica b. 1918 Maria b. 1921 and Teodor b. 1931. Did the listed live in Ostritsia or did they immigrate to Canada?
