Start w/how-to tutorial re researching LDS films. This is by far the best resource for anyone researching their Galician (Halychanyn) roots. Order the film of the GC church records*** that I recommended in previous post and take it one step at a time. The newer records are in Latin, making it fairly simple for you to recognize the names. Copy the records and whatever you can't figure out, we can always translate.

There is a great deal of satisfaction if you do it on your own, if only a little bit. Click on to film of interest and follow instructions. For appx $15USD you can create a family tree dating back to 1873.

Fred probably anglicized from Baptismal name Teodore (called nickname Fedor or Fedko by family)

Annie = Anna (on rare occasion I have also seen it based on given name Anastazia)

If you find it too difficult to research on own, I can always recommend a local who can help and not charge an arm and leg.
