My wife's great-grandfather was Peter or Petro Kostyniuk - born around 1889 in Tulova, Sniatyn, Galicia. He immigrated to NY through Ellis Island in 1907 and made his way up to Canada and eventually Alberta. His father was George (Urko) and his mother was Paraska (Pearl) Fodchuk. As far as we know, Peter immigrated by himself and his parents remained behind in Tulova (we've also come across the spelling of Tulawa).
I would love some recommendations of how to find out more about both this village and the family that stayed behind - George and Paraska and their families.
Oh - and we had a record somewhere that Peter had a sister Maria who was born around 1890 in Tulova but we have no idea if she immigrated or stayed behind.
Any help would be appreciated!!
