What steps would you recommend for connecting to present day relatives in Ukraine?
I have 4 letters from relatives written in Cyrillic from 1957/58. My ancestors were displaced Lemkos from Polany, Barwinek & Zyndranowa villages in Galicia that resettled in Lviv presumably after WW2.
2 letters were from my father's grandmother Anastasia (Nettie) Kalita (age 85)inquiring about her daughter Mary Kalita & her family in US. Mary had come to the US through Ellis Island in 1913, and was the oldest and the sole child of the large Kalita family to emigrate to the US. The postmarked address was USSR,Lviv, Street Snopkivska 29/5A. I Googled the address and it still exists 2day as:Snopkivs'ka St, 29 Halyts'kyi District, Lviv, L'vivs'ka Oblast, Ukraine 7900.
2 other letters were written by Anastasia's son (Mary's Brother) that came from Siberia and had similar content. The postmarked address was USSR, Siberia, Kemeroskaja Oblast, Anzero-Sudzensk UL. Daukorskaja No.20-(Kv)5. My Google shows this address doesn't exist anymore.
I'm open to any advice or suggestions that can point me in the right direction. I feel as if I hit a brick wall in my search.
