I know that my husband's grandmother and aunt used to send care packages to family that was still in Ukraine.
I know that John (possibly Ivan) Szalko (b. 1871) married Anna Zilisko (possibly Zelisko) (b. 1873) and had children named Stephan (b. 1896), Parania (b. 1898), Kataryna (b. 1900), Maria (b. 1902), Anastasia (b. 1904), Andrij (b.1906), Mychajlo (b. 1908) and Teodor (b. 1910)
It is my understanding that Stephan is the only one that came to the United States. The rest stayed in Ukraine.
Since I don't speak the language and don't have more information this has been a brick wall on my tree. I would love to find out more about the family that stayed in Lviv and find out if any of them are still there.
