My grandmother Anna Kobilish (sp?)was born on Nov 1, 1889
in Kristinapoli, Austria. Her father's name was Urban
her mother's name was Ksenia Pawkeek (sp?)- also of Austria.
Through the years the town has changed County of Sokal, province LWOW, Oblast LVIV - I think today the town is called Czerwonohrad. My grandmother came to the USA (date unknown-married in USA in 1918) She spoke very little English but considered herself Polish, she was a very devout Roman Catholic. We know she had a sister Mary who married and her name changed to Orzeckowski- she came to the USA also. We have heard that they had a brother who did not come to the USA and died during the war. Someone remembers seeing a picture of him sitting on a horse in uniform.
Any information on the names or town would be appreicated.
We do not know what happened to my grandmother's family
(mother, father or brother)
