Sight for Father's sore eyes, photos of Volovets, district center town. Village was officially founded in 15th century, but archeological digs indicate settlement here in 2nd century BC (Bronze Age). Today's population is 5,200+.*** Notice skiing facilities just outside town. It attracts many skiers from EU. There are several fair size hotels here. Not very far is one of my favorite places in the Carpathians, Lake Synevir, Blue Eye/Sea Eye of the Carpathians, set in a magnificent Carpathian land preserve, Synevir National Park.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a6/Ukraine-V...http://hotel-grand.com.ua/volovec-celkovy-v2.jpghttp://www.uaproperty.com/images/wonder11.jpg
***Writing letters is terrific, but be careful. This is not a village of 600/700 people, like it was when your Immigrant Ancestor emigrated. You do not want relatives that may not be your own. Have you put together a family tree?
