Hi All,
I am trying to find information about Juraj Grgich and his wife Gladys. Gladys is my great-grandmother, Juraj was her second husband.
Here is what I know about Juraj. He was born in Dalmatia, Yugoslavia (which is now Croatia I believe) in 1902, his fathers name was Toma Grgich. Juraj came to Western Australia with his brother Nickola in the late 1920's, they were both gold miners. Nikola died in 1941 and later that year Juraj married my great-grandmother. In 1942 Juraj applied for and was granted Australian citizenship. This is the last record I have of them until Juraj dies in 1982. I have a photo of his headstone and there is no mention of my great-grandmother.
My grandmother grew up in an orphanage, she last saw her mother when she was about 19. She wants to know what happened to her but I am coming to one dead end after another, if anyone could give me any more information on Juraj or Gladys I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Caroline
