Surnames: SLOAN
My father stated that his Grandfather came from England. He joined the Canadian Army in 1918 by lying
his age. He was member of the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment.
The Previously mentioned document

National Archive of Canada Soldiers of WW1
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-100....
Service records are avaialble
Oliver SLOAN enlisted Sept 23 1915

I previously located this document which seems to support what my father stated about his grandfather.

He went on to say that his father Bruce was adopted by SMITHS from Edmonton who stayed there. His father Bruce and Mother Marie moved to Alberta and passed away there in 1972 and 1973.
