Hi,
Looking for info on the family of Peter Flem in the Banff area. Peter married Lottie Earp, date unknown. Maybe had a daughter and son, family notes state all are deceased. I was able to locate this info from the Banff Cemetery Index.
Flem, Peter Robert, 1956
Flem, Ruth Eva Jubinville, 1933-1973
no listing for Lottie or son.
From the Alberta Local History Book Index it has Flem P.R ( Pete & Lottie ) Recollections of the Homestead Trails, Mountainview. Couldn`t be found in this book after a look up, believe there was a error when transcribing the index`s, believe they are listed in another book.
If anyone has any info on this family or maybe locate them in another book from the banff area, I sure would enjoy hearing from you.
take care,
Sandra

I am looking for ANY info on my great-uncle, Percy Exshaw Young. He was born in Exshaw, Alberta on November 3, 1907. He was raised in Revelstoke, B.C., but disappeared out of his family's life. He fought in WW2 and spent the last few years of his life back in B.C. (Kamloops). He died in the Shaughnessy Hosptial in Vancouver on October 2, 1969. His death certificate states that his wife was Gladys Mae (maiden name not known). Percy's parents were Samuel and Hannah Young of Revelstoke, B.C. His siblings were Charles Young (moved to Manitoba), Rose, and Jack. Again, any info would be most appreciated. What I have mentioned in this posting is all anybody knows about the late Percy Young. Thanks.

Searching for any descendants of Joseph John Cole and his wife Lillian Ophelia ( ? maiden name). Joseph migrated from Glyn Neath, south Wales, around 1900-1910 and settled in the mining community of Bankhead, now a ghost town. My information is that he retired to Calgary. I have heared an address of "Bow Valley Lodges" mentioned, but I don't know where this is located. Joseph died in 1956 and his wife in 1975. They are buried in Banff Mountview Cemetery. I think they had two sons and two daughters but I'm not sure of this. If anyone can find a reference to this family I'd be most grateful.
Alun,
south Wales, UK.

LOOKING FOR MAUREEN SMITH

I am writing on behalf of Jeanette Smith - who is looking for her long-lost mother and sister. Her mother’s name is Helena Florence Smith, daughter of Mrs. F. K. Smith. Her sister’s name is Maureen Smith. Helena Florence Smith worked in the army canteen at Camp Aldershot during WWII. She met and fell in love with Romeo “Butch” Lauzon who was a Canadian soldier. Helena got pregnant and had Jeanette on Jan 30/46 in Surrey South-Western sub district of Guildford Rural West County, U.K. Last known address in 1946-47 for Helena, Maureen and Jeanette: 12 Wyke Ave., Ash, Surrey, U.K.
On Aug 2/47, when Helena was 20 yrs old and her daughters were aged approx 3 years old (Maureen) and 18 months, (Jeanette), they sailed from Southampton on the S.S. Aquitania to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and then on to Cornwall, Ontario where Romeo lived. Here, due to circumstances that Jeanette knows nothing about, her mother left her with her birth father Romeo Lauzon and his parents Isidore and Clara. They stayed about 2 weeks and then Helena and Maureen went back to the UK and Jeanette never heard anything again. Her father’s family would not talk about it and now they can’t as they have passed on. Jeanette is quite anxious to find her mother and her sister.
If you know of Helena or Maureen, then I really would appreciate hearing from you.My e-mail address is: g.vout@3web.net. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
I'm trying to find information on William and John Gates.
William lived in Banff during WWII. His brother, John, visited him in the late summer of 1946 after returning from the War. William would be about 78 and John a few years younger. I believe William died in the 1970's. If you have any information on these brothers, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!
