Hello Stella:
Nice to know you are still active in the family history community -- you've provided helpful information to me in the past (InfoUkes), and I appreciate the details you've listed here. I will investigate the ones I have yet to look into. As I was only doing an email address update, I hadn't gone into details about the specific info I needed, but I do finally have a copy of Hemstitches and Hackamores, and the Deputans included were my dad's uncle and aunt.
I've also located, through "Linktoyourroots", and for a fee, the Immigration details from Hamburg, Germany for Pawlo Deputan -- except the name was recorded as Dyputan. The family village is listed as Zwiniacz, and I'm making an assumption that it is the village in the vicinity of Kosiv, nw of Chortkiw. It pays to be creative with possible spellings when doing searches. The family arrived in 1902 in Halifax and settled in the Holden area. The Bodnar link is on my great-grandmother's side (Anastasia Bodnar, and her brother Michal). I'm told her background was Polish.
As always, I appreciate receiving links and suggestions, and perhaps soon I'll be able to compile my research into a more cohesive, organized format.
Regards,
Carol
