I used the Alberta Homestead Index & found who I think is him again. The land location is a little different from what is stated on the 1916 census:
Section 18, township 48, range 11, west of the 4th.
I used this land location for the " Legal Land Description Converter" & came up with a little east & north of Viking Alberta. I hope this is the place.
I have Samantha's death date from the family bible, but it didn't state where she died.
I'm going to start with Viking & go from there.
