Proskow, Jacula, Pooke

My grandparents, Joseph and Mary(Jacula) Proskow, lived in Canada 1910-1924. Joseph worked in the mines, including one his brother owned.(Brother may have used the name of Prokop or Prockiw-mine possibly in Moosejaw) Mary and Joseph had a son Paul who died along with many other miners' children of Spanish influenza. Mary lived with her sister Anna Pooke and family after her mother died in childbirth. They lived in Holden. After the child died they moved to Minnesota where Joseph had another brother, Henry Prokop, living. Where did their family's come from? Any help would be appreciated.
I am looking for descendants of Eulogius Schmolke who moved to the outskirts of Holden about 1905 and was a soldier in WW I. The family moved away before he returned from the war and contact was lost. He was born Sep. 1895 and may have changed his name to Eugene, moved to BC and may have died there in 1935. His parents were Fred SCHMOLKE and Elisabeth JENDRO.

My family once lived in Ryley, AB. They owned & operated the Ryley Variety Store. I am looking for any old postcards, calendars, etc specifically related to my family's business. The building was erected by Dr. MCPHERSON/MacPHERSON in the 1920's, and was first a Drug Store, Dr.'s Office, and as well, later, a telephone central for the town and a laundromat. I am researching the history of this building, so any contact with previous owners/families would be of interest.

I've got information and some copies from that book about my grandmothers parents, but I would like to read it all.
I would be very pleased if it was possible to but the book. My grandfathers parents were Olof Andersson and Ingrid Svensdotter and they changed their surname to Oslund when they arrived to Canada (Wetaskiwin). Ulla Albano

Fred SURRY was a teacher and farmer in the Kinsella district (also a resident of Kinsella) from the period 1914 - 1921. His wife Jessie was a music teacher of some repute during that period - hosting community and church events. The two of them were very involved in the community. There were 8 children: Norman was killed in WWI and Douglas died in 1915 in Sedgewick.
The family removed to Edmonton about 1922 where Fred taught for a few years, then opened a newstand (also selling coins, stamps, books, antiques) about 1925 (to 1944) in downtown Edmonton. Jessie continued teaching music (piano and voice) until the late 1960s.

Marie STASHUK

I am searching for confirmation of the death date and place of my great grandmother Maria or Marie STASHUK(STASUK) who lived and died in Phillips, Alberta, Canada and is buried in Viking. I have written to Edmonton for a death certificate and they have no record. She and her husband Sam STAHUK lived on a farm around Phillips from about 1912 until her death. Sam or Samuel was married twice after her death and had 3 or 4 daughters. He died in and was buried at Radway, Alberta in 1932.
