Agnus Grono is my Greatgrandmother.She was from Dutch Settlement Nova Scotia and was born Agnus Isenor.She Married George Grono and the homstead on a property on Grono Road near Dutch Settlement.I visied the property with several first cousins this Fall.

You know that your grandfather George CARRIERE was living in Grouard Alberta in aprox 1961. Have you searched that locaton for other family members.
You know that your Grandfather passed away in the past 10 years of Lou Gehrigs disease -in the Edmonton Alberta Area.

Billy McCue + Gordon
Stanford, CONN 1935

The elder McCue looks to be around 25ish-35, wearing a suit and a hat holding the younger McCue. The photo is in front of an old car.

What research have you already done ?

Is your Grandfather Theodore Wilbur BAKER still living ?
If Not - do you know When? Where ? he passed away.
An Obituary may have been published - some are informative - may show names and locations of other family members etc.

Genealogical Registration of Death
Depending on requirements of the time will show
date and place of birth - names of parents including maiden name of the mother [as known to informant ]
Marital Status. Name of Spouse. Occupation etc.

Do you know where the family had lived? in Alberta?

All I know is that in year 1961 he was living in Grouard Alberta or something like that. He passed away within the last 10 years of Lou Gehrigs Disease around the edmonton area.

I'll work on it don't worried. My Uncle is also buried in that cemetery. So my Aunt must know who has the list. Also I'm thinking why would someone from Faust get buried in HP??? Did you see this information somewhere??? Do you know where HP and Faust are? Cause Faust is about 1 hr away. If you read some of my other post I did go to Faust for another lady and I kinda remember that name in Faust. But it could be other family members. Angele

I did find the grave for Alexander Rufus McPherson. But no headstone. So I still took a picture. And sent it on.

Hello: Mom and I took a little trip to Faust. We couldn't find anything for you. A ton of crosses are made of wood and falling all apart. Angele,

This name in on the "Master Name Index Database" of the Alberta Genealogy Society (AGS) that I have a copy of. I and others were in that area some 10 years ago recording those cemeteries. We usually record and combine the grave markers at the cemetery and any info we get from the cemetery books at the cemetery caretaker, into this database.

So I suspect he died in HP, was buried in HP, had no family there to pay for a headstone, so there is no grave marker, only recorded in the caretakers book?.

My Database reads,
Alexander Rufus McPHERSON - 7 Jun 1954 age 68yrs of Faust
buried in the McCue cemetery at High Prairie.

This McCue cemetery is at, NW-19-074-16-W5.

Well Angele, my great-grandfather was an interesting man. He was actually from Dauphin, Manitoba where he met and married my great-grandmother. However, his tendency to spend all the money on gambling and hunting meant that they eventually went their separate ways. He then moved to northern Alberta. From what I can gather, he isn't buried in Faust because he had gone to another town to the hospital, which is where he was buried. Maybe that is why he is buried in High Prairie. I really know little about the man. But, thanks for the help!

Her name was Justine Plante, and she later married her husband Denis Smith.
She had 5 kids named Joyce, Sidney(manny),Denis(Nig), Barbara, and evelyn.

We are of aboriginal background and really want to learn more about the life our great grandparents had.

There is a book called "Pioneers Who Blazed the Trails" published in 1967 or 1968. The book "Trails We Blazed Together" is an updated book to the first book. I believe it was written about 8 or 9 years ago.
