      <description>Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt Henry, longtime resident of the Wanham/Woking area passed away suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alta. on October 28, 1997 at the age of 88 years. Ted leaves to mourn his son Cecil of Woking and his daughter Stella (Alex) Horoshko of Grande Prairie, his granddaughter Helen (Brandon) Sweeney of Grande Prairie, his grandson Ken (Michelle) Horoshko of Grande Prairie and his two great grandchildren Desiree and Tyler. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. Ted was predeceased by his loving wife Bessie in Septmeber of 1975 and his five brothers. In 1934, Ted started farming in the Westvale area where he met and married Bessie Davis in 1937. The family lived on the farm until Ted retired in 1976 and moved to Sexsmith. Ted has been a resident of the Pioneer Lodge Grande Prairie for the last eight years. Visitation at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 31, 1997 from 8 - 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church in Wanham on Saturday, November 1, 1997 at 2 p.m. Pastor Lew Wiegel officiating.       <description>Christian Lysgaard Christensen (better known as Lusco) passed away Saturday, October 18, 1997 at Mackenzie Place. He was born on January 12, 1907 in Wognstrup, Naur, Ringkobing, Denmark, and came to Canada in 1928. Lusco farmed at Wanham, Alta., until 1959 when he moved to Yellowknife, NWT. There he worked at a market garden, gold mine and for the school division, where he fixed all types of machines and taught carpentry work. In 1970 he moved to Edmonton, Alta., then in 1973 moved to Kelowna, B.C., where he retired until 1992. He loved gardening and his flowers, also liked to help people in any way that he could. In 1992 Lusco moved to the Pioneer Lodge in Grande Prairie until September 1997 when his health failed and he moved to Mackenzie Place until his passing. He travelled back to his homeland in Denmark many times to visit relatives and friends. Lusco is survived by; son, John Christensen (Elly) of Wanham, Alta.; daughter Margaret Barbarich (Marco) of Grande Prairie, Alta.; brother Svend Christensen (Jytte) of Kelowna, B.C.; granddaughters Elaine Sole (Garry); Sheila Matner (Ken); Maurine McCelland (Mel) all of Kelowna, B.C.; Four great grandchildren of Kelown, B.C.; sisters: Rigmor (Sigord) Fredrickson, of Victoria, B.C.; Gerda (Ove) of Denmark, and numerous relatives in Denmark. Lusco was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters. Funeral service will be held at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Rev.       <description>On December 20, 1997, Winnifred Yvonne Sorgen passed away suddenly at the age of 47 years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Duane, daughters Wanda (Cody) Hunter of Spirit River, Joyce Sorgen and Gary Scott of LaGlace, sons Daniel Sorgen of Grande Prairie, Wayne (Holly) Sorgen of Hythe, and Blaine Sorgen of Grande Prairie. Also grandchildren Michael, Duana, Matthew and Shelby. Yvonne was predeceased by her father Harry Moses. She was born in Sexsmith on February 11, 1950. Yvonne and Duane married September 1967. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral at C.O.C.O. Hall in Wanham on Sunday, December 28, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Wiegel officiating, interment to follow in the Wanham cemetery.
