Re: researching Robert Leonard BARKER family
Hi Barbara, We are very luck here in B.C. to be able to view the Birth,Marriage and Death Registrations - at no cost - and to be able to transcribe or copy the information found. Manitoba and Saskatchewan -have some of the information indexed - but there is still a fee for the information.
Alberta - for whatever reason -has not indexed the information - They can charge $40 for the Registrations.
BUT - Anything Prior to 1905 -can also be found at the Provincial Archive in Edmonton - [ No $40 fee]
You have the names - and dates/years. At one time there was just a small copy/search fee.
There may be persons at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - Alberta who may offer to help.
Volunteers at RAndom Acts of Genealogical Kindness - British Columbia - Offer Search,Transcription or Copy of Public Record - re Death Reg for Barbara. Some will search for Obituary - and offer Cemetery Photo.
Cheers, Stella
