Fred MAUZA, b.~1880 in Lithuania (Russia), coal miner, listed his residence as Coleman when he crossed the border at Eastport in Aug.1913, to visit in Spokane, listing his brother, Joseph MAUZA, of Hosmer, as nearest relative in Canada.
Fred is the only relative in Canada or Lithuania that I have been able to find for Joseph MAUZA, my husband's grandfather, other than their parents names listed on Joseph's marriage in 1909 in Hosmer to Antonina MARCINKEVICIUS.
How would I be able to find out more about Fred in the Crowsnest Pass? I cannot find him on the 1906, 1911 or 1916 census, despite him listing on the border crossing that he arrived in Canada in Mar.1905 through Halifax (which I have also not been able to find record of). I don't find a listing for him in the AFHS cemetery database, nor find his name on the Hillcrest Mine Disaster. Are there Henderson directories for Coleman/Pass area?
Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks, Janet
