I am researching an ancestor who emigtrated to Canada in 1921 from Dunfermline in Scotland. His name is John Burrell (details below) with him came his son Archibald. They arrived in Quebec and were heading to meet up with a friend, David C Robert, Post Office, Coleman, Alberta.
In 1923, John's wife brought the remainder of the family across to Coleman.
I have a note that John, Cecelia and Maryann are buried in Bellevue Cemetary, Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. John died in 1936 whilst Cecilia, 1966. There is no date for Maryann.
I am interested in understanding what John and Archibald did for work as they left a coal mining community when they emmigrated. I am equally interested in understanding how the family developed over time. Marriages, births and deaths and where people live/lived. I need to be able to get copies of the various records to confirm any information given. So, links to sites etc., would also be welcome.
I am also interested in getting in touch with any family members who are still around.
My name is William Burrell and I live in Lanark, Scotland but currently in Brisbane, Australia where I am working on rail related projects.
