My husband is writing a history/family tree of his branch of the Bremner family.
His great grand uncle was James Charles Chatterton Bremner (known as Charlie) from Clover Bar but original family was from glasgow and prior to this was from Wick, (Charlie's wife was Edith Fielders from New Brunswick).
Charlie was a very colourful character in Edmonton and built the Bremner House, also the district of Bremner was named after him. I have obtained his death certificate from the Vital Records Office.
The reason for writing this thread is to try to obtain the information given on the gravestones of Charlie and Edith.
Of course his real name is James CC Bremner as given on the cemetery records.
I have located the cemetary and plots via the internet.
Cemetery is Edmonton. Section 0F block 0055 and plots are 0005 and 0006.
I had not realised that Edith was buried three days before Charlie can anyone confirm this for me? Also is there any information about the deaths (Charlie shot himself in his barn). This was such sad news to receive from the record of death. Any information to tie up the loose ends of his story would be useful. The buriels took place in 1928
Would really appreciate any help. I am in the UK, but plan to visit Edmonton for the opening of Bremner House in a couple of years time.
