Hi I am looking to find were my Grandmother is laid to rest. I believe it is in the Fairview area. Whitelaw or around there. My grandmothers name was Agnes Margurite Powell maiden name was LePrette. Her brothers name is Angus LePrette and lived in Peace River. Any information would be great. My Great Grandma would also be from that area and her name was Pauline LePrette and I think her maiden name was Deroshay.

Fred Wagner (1881-1939) was my Great Grandfather. He was born in Russia to Anton Wagner and Salome (or Salomene) Heck. Anton (1855-1899) and Salome (1859-1928)were also born in Russia. I don't have any record of Salome's relatives, but I would imagine that she is the connection you are looking for.

Lillian Knutson-Family or executor of her estate

Trying to contact anyone with regard to Lillian's estate:

Lillian had an unused Bank Balance that has been transferred to the Bank of Canada. The last transaction date was in 1979 so I assume she may have passed away that year.

After the account is dormant for 10 yrs the balance is sent to the Bank of Canada. You can check their website or the CIBC in Fairview Alberta for more information. The account is under the "Estate of Lillian Knutson"

Hi, Is William Judson SLYE - the birth name - or adopted name?

Is William still living ? - If so - he can obtain his adoption papers - which will include the Registration of Birth - [ some items may be blacked out - all depends on govt regulations]

Registration of birth should show name of mother, age,place of birth -depending on the time frame - how many other children born to the mother - how many living - how many stillborn etc.
May or May not show name of the father - depends on circumstances - If the birth father wishes to have his name shown on the registration. [ some don't want their names on registration ] or Mother may not have wished to state the name of the father - so father would be shown as not known.

Do you know if William was born in Hospital? How old was he when adopted ?

Hello Stella. The mother's name would be great. I am the adoptee daughter. Would I be able to obtain his birth certificate? He passed away in 1998.

I have not registered in any adoption circles. The birth father is deceased as is his wife, who is not necessarily the birth mother. They were both from Edmonton, I have extensive information on them. I also have some next generation contact information (ie the cousins) which can be pursued.

The next key for me would be the mother's name.

Information re adoptions may be available from Govt of Alberta. Details may be available to adoptee.

Alberta Has a Registry - Parent Find/ Siblings etc
Perhaps family members may have registered - are searching -Or you may be able to register your search.

Do you know when William Judson SLYE was born ? - the reason for adoption. Depending on circumstances - there may only be the name of the birth mother.

I am looking for the decendents of a Ruupert Isaac Peters, b. 17 Jul 1904 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. His father Frank and Grandfather Isaac, Homesteaded in Falun, Alberta from 1904 to 1926.
This is a Swede/Finn family who emigrated to Canada in the late 1890’s

Ruupert, who went by Isaac, is reported to have married a woman from the Pigeon Lake area around 1925-1930, and is reported to have lived in the Peace River Area.
There is also the possibility that they lost two children in a house fire.

Isaac contacted two of his brothers (Art and Leonard) in Vancouver during the 1950's by telephone. That was the last contact the family had.

I am a distant relative of Isaac Peters, and I am in contact with other relatives of his both here in Sweden as in the USA. If you know anything at all about this man and his family, please contact me by e-mail.

Your Great Grandmother was Eizabeth STARK - married to your Ggrandfather? John REICHERT. Both deceased in Saskatchewan.
You are searching for the parents of Elizabeth and her brothes Gus and Raymond?
If you obtain your GGrandmothers Death Registration./Genealogical Registration /Long form Death Registration- the cost is aprox $50.
It may mention the name of both of her parents - including the mothers maiden name - and place of birth of both parents - Much depends on the knowledge of the informant.

The Cemetery can advise re the name of the funeral Home.
The funeral home or the successor - should hold the information in their archive - Funeral Homes may take all of the personal informationr required for the death registration *as well may take information for the obituary .

Olaf homesteaded & farmer there- farm land if about 8 miles south & 3 miles east from Whitelaw .

I am confused about the book information- as at first I was told he had a write up in the book & then told there was nothing in the book

I think his wife was Jennie Caren Schiel(??)- sons Ole & Norman Pedersen Allen

I am not sure when or why but Ole ended up in the hospital in Ponoka & died there He is buried in Olds Ab.

Olaf Klaudius Pederson/Pedersen is also buried with Ole in Olds Cemetery- I am not sure if Jennie died in Olds or Whitelaw??

Olaf's son Norman took the last name of Allen and moved to BC- He lived in North Van or West Van & died there-Not sure where he is buried?

If you can help that would be great!

Olaf was born in Oslo -Parents were Klaudius & (Johanne)Petronelle Pedersen

(He also had a brother Peter Bernhard Petterson/Pedersen- who lived in Naicam Sask & Hythe AB- There are still alot of family there)

Olaf farmed about 8 miles south of Whitelaw and about 3miles east (I think?) At least that is what the town of Whitelaw told me .

Looking for information on my husband's grandfather Anton Schneider, b. 28 Jan 1883, Russia, d. 31 Dec 1966, Calgary. Emigrated with his brothers and their families from Russia approx. 1907/08, moved to Friedenstal Alberta 1914. I know that Karl, Jacob & Joseph then moved to the Okanagan 1925/26, but haven't been able to pick up the strand from there.
