Rolling Hills (Alberta) History Book

I have an extra copy of "The History of Rolling Hills, 1939-1964." The book doesn't have an index, but includes information about the following families: Hunter, Gobeil, Hillis, Shuttleworth, Charlton, Hawkins, Gallaway,Gaston, Zeigler, LaPointe, Schneider, Gier, Rosdal, Hagen, Daniels, McLaren, Beattie, Blackmer, Hemsing, Vogels, Unser, Kristianson, Stonehouse, Finkbeiner, Borden, Thomsen, Lundquist, Sereda, among others.

Many of these families were originally living in Saskatchewan and were relocated to Rolling Hills(near Scandia) under the "Prairie Farm Rehabilitation" plan. Their land had dried out and were offered land for the sum of $8.00 per acre of irrigable land on a payment plan at 5 percent interest per year for 12 years.

If anyone has roots in this area and needs a copy of this book please email me.
~Carol

1920's US citizens moving to Bassano

A family I'm tracing left Washington State in abt. 1918 for Bassano. I'm very curious to find why they would of moved to this area. They were farmers, so I'm not sure if there were farm opportunities, or if something else drew them. They seemed to have remained only till about 1925 or so, and returned to Washington State. ???? Any ideas?? Thanks, John B.
