Hi, Strange - they should be able to tell you if there was an Obituary - the date and place where it was published -this is public record.

What Funeral HOme: Bowell funeral Home - has some records online

A death in British Columbia - will be found at the Provincial Archive Vital events site online.
The filmed Registration of Death - will show:
all personal information required at the time
time in municipality,Province, Canada
Place of Death. Name and address.
Date and place of birth - sex.citizenship.race.
Marital Status. name of spouse
Occupation.Industry, time at occupation. last worked
Names of parents including mothers maiden name - place of birth of parents - if known to the informant.
Name and address of Informant. Relationship to deceased.
Date of death. Cause of Death. Burial or Cremation.
Name and address of Funeral Home, Cemetery,Physician.

Filmed Registration can be viewed at no cost at the Provincial Archive in Victoria. Some Public or Univeristy Libraries in BC. Information can be transcribed - or - photo copied at .50 cents or less - depending on copy machine.

VOLUNTEERS - at Random acts of Genealogical Kindness - British Columbia - ANY who offer search of Public Record- can transcribe or copy information found in the filmed registrations.
