My Grandad Ronald Goulet

I would love to gather any information about my Grandad, Ronald Goulet. He married my English Grandma (Joan) and lived in Spirit River with their two sons Ronald and Kenneth Norman (my Father).

I know my Grandad died when my Dad was a young lad (My Dad was born in 11th May 1946), and the cause of death may ring bells with some of the older locals?!

Apparantly he fell asleep (unnoticed) on a dumper truck full of soil, which unfortunately, was tipped and my Grandad was consequently suffocated. My Grandma then moved back to England and re-married.

I would be very grateful if anyone could give me any information at all... or point me in the right direction.

Spirit River Newspaper -- 1940's (BD Dude Cote)

My uncle was involved with a newspaper in Spirit River in 1940's and I am looking for information on him. He passed way about two years ago, before I started to work on the family tree and there is no one alive in the family that remembers any of this. Is there any history in the Spirit River area that would include this that I could use to confirm if this was the case and what the paper was about? Was there anyone there that knew of my uncle? Thanks

My Dad's name was Adolph (Scotty) Almond changed name from Almonditis..
Brothers Eddy and....... My Grandma is buried in Spirit River would like to find anyone knowing anything please call me. And would like to find any other relations

Looking for the Potts family

I was born on the 4th of october 1982 in the town of Barrhead and lovingly given up for adoption.
At birth I was given the name : Crystal Anne Potts.

My mother was 28 yrs. of age at the time of my birth also she was metis from origin.
I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers of which one brother is also given up for adoption.

It is very well possible that my mother did not live in Barrhead but in the surroundings.

I hope an angel will come my way and help me in my search for my family,

I am looking for infor on Barnes Dustin Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Ira "Jim" Brooks. They arrived in Alberta about 1905 or 1906. They settled in the Spirit River area. Barnes was married and the other two brothers were not married to my knowledge. If anyone has any info or knowledge of this family and decendents I would like to hear from them.

Grace Evelyn White passed away December 24, 1997 at the Central Peace Hospital, Spirit River, Alta. Grace was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, U.S.A., on July 25, 1912. Grace came to the Peace River Country with her parents, Jorgen and Olene Johnson (nee Brattle) in 1916. Grace grew up in the Wembley and Hythe districts. She married Marion White of Sexsmith in June 1934. They retired and travelled for a while then moved to Watino, Alta., for a few years, then moved to Spirit River where she lived with her son and his wife, George and Jo Anne White. She was predeceased by her husband Marion White in 1989, son Ronald White in 1980, daughter-in-law Shirley White in 1982, and her parents, Jorgen and Olene Johnson, and also five brothers and three sisters. Grace leaves to mourn three sons, George (JoAnne) of Spirit River, Alta., Leslie (Joyce) of Mayerthorpe, Alta., and Dale (Lenora) of Revelstoke, B.C., six grandchildren, Shawna, Guy, John, Susan, Jackie and Laurie, as well as 12 great-grandchildren, one brother Oliver (Marie) Johnson of Ponoka, Alta., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, long-time friend Nellie Sterr of Sexsmith and little friend Dustin Thompson of Rycroft. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997 at 2 p.m. from Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, 10005-107 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alta. Rev. Irene Greenwood officiating, Interment to follow at Emerson Trail Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Alberta Lung Association. Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel.
