MACDONALD - JEANNE ELIZABETH of Stettler, AB, passed away at the Stettler Health Care Centre, Feb. 15, 2004, at the age of 87 years. Jeanne was born April 11, 1916, at Hardieville, Lethbridge, AB. Jeanne was raised around the Drumheller, AB, Big Valley, AB, area where her dad Sid Hopkins had a butcher shop and slaughter house. Jeanne was known for her hair and was called -Red- by her friends and family. She still had natural red hair at her passing, no dye for this feisty little lady. Jeanne was united in marriage to Lyman Campbell (Cam) MacDonald in Innisfail, AB, in 1937. Cam was a long time resident of the Erskine, AB, Stettler area. They lived in many places over the years, traveled and enjoyed life to its fullest - settling down in Big Valley, then Stettler. Predeceased by her loving husband Cam; her parents Sid and Annie Hopkins; two brothers Elmer and Sid (Snooks) and their spouses Anita and Shirley; two great-granddaughters Amy Hansen and Shaylynn Hill-Hansen. Jeanne is survived by son Jim (Norma) MacDonald of Stettler; daughters Darlene (Harvey) Hansen of Ponoka, AB, Sandra (Hank) Moore of High Prairie, AB; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one in waiting; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Gladys Fitch of Armstrong, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne was active in the Legion Auxiliary and was president for several terms in Lacombe, AB, and a member in Big Valley and Stettler for 56 plus years. Jeanne loved her friends and family and was loved by all in return. She made a big impact on our family and called the shots right to the end. We attribute that to the hair. She was full of fun and enjoyed a good life and we will miss her more than words can express. By Jeanne's request there will be an internment and graveside memorial service held in Innisfail in the spring to be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Vogel and the nursing staff of the Stettler Health Care Centre. Their concern and sympathy for our family and mother was above and beyond. Thank you also goes out to the staff and doctors of the Red Deer Hospital for the loving care extended there also. Service arrangements by Stettler Funeral Home. If friends wish, donations can be made to a charity of donor's choice.

Cheers Stella
