HI,

I am hoping that someone can help me find out what happened to John & Sarah Lampard... I completely loose them after the 1906 Census. At that time they were living on:

Section 2
Twp 36
Range 20
Meridian 4
Stathcona, Alberta

John was born in 1871 in England and Sarah in 1877 in Ireland. I believe that John may have come to Canada in 1885 as part of the child migration scheme through the Fegan Homes.

I am currently trying to trace all 52 of the boys who came out in 1885 on the SS Sarmatian with James Hart, who married into my family.

Thanks for your help,

Lili
I am doing a Family Research Project and would be interested in contact with others who have knowledge of them ie: from Local History Books, relatives with old photos, stories, family-tree info., locations of the old farms. Please email me for my Web Page if those families are of interest to you too.

I've tracked this family through Ontario--Alex was a gg-uncle of mine. In 1906 and 1911, they were in Strathcona Dist--and I have no idea what happened to them after that.

I have complete names and birth information, but not much else.

Can anyone help me find Alberta records?

Except for Martha, I have no idea of whether any of the children married, nor whom. The sons served in the first world war, and were still in the Edmonton area at that time. I'd guess Agnes and Helen married (or died) before 1906 in AB, and Alice and Pearl married (or died) between 1906 and 1911.

McConnell Alex Ireland Feb 18 1847
McConnell Lena (Marlin) ON May 15 1855

McConnell Martha Jane ON Jan 1 1880
m.

Meet my grandparents Ed and Alice of Perbeck Alberta. Ed, as he was known to friends and family, homesteaded in the early 1900's on NE Section 20, Twp 34, Range 22, Meridian W4. They started having the 1st of 10 babies in 1909, the last 3 including my mother Grace were born in Percival, Sask. My grandmother Alice is the mystery woman as well as an older white-haired woman standing behind her in a pic with the 1st 3 babies. Alice was born in Kentucky 1889 and emigrated to Canada in 1906, that I found on the 1906 census. That is all the hard facts I have and a cemetery record of her burial in Wpg MB 1938. If anyone knows anything about her I would really appreciate it. The Glenbow Museum has lots of info and pics of my great aunt Harriet Ann Ash, founder of the V.O.N. in Alberta and pics of Edmund and his oxen which I gratefully appreciated.

I'm also looking for anyone who could look up information in the book "Down Memory Lane to Colchester." The online index lists both my great aunt Emma Ott and great uncle William Ott and it would be nice to know what has been written about them. Emma's on page 31,195 and William pages 135, 191, 247, 248.

Thanks so much, Barb

Hamill - my search for history & relatives

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find out more about the HAMILL surname & perhaps my relatives. My great grandfather, D.A. HAMILL lived with his wife (name unknown) at 11546-97 Ave Edmonton (Strathcona?), Alta until around 1960 or so. I do not know when (or where) either was born, nor when they moved to Edmonton (by 1920, I assume), nor when they died. This information is key to my search. They had two sons, Melvin Robert Lee HAMILL (b. 1920 or so?) and Alec HAMILL (who later owned Hamill's men's wear store next to the Hudson's Bay). The former is my grandfather and was a musician and piano instructor in Edmonton in the 1950's and 60's. He and his wife Gladys (LAGESON) (1917?-1964?) had a daughter, Lee Carol Hamill (b. 1952). Melvin died on May 1, 1973. Alec HAMILL had two children, one named Maureen, the other Tom.
If any of these names are familiar, or you think you may have information (or know where I can find more), please email me. Thank you in advance. :o)

ANNA HAVSGAARD born December 9, 1901 somewhere around Oslo, Norway.

Desparetly seeking information of the life of ANNA HAVSGAARD, born December 9, 1901 around Oslo, Norway. Emigrated to Canada on board the Oscar II (Scandinavian-American Ship Line) point of departure was Kristiana, Norway. Point of arrival was Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 18, 1927. Anna Havsgaard then relocated to New Norway, Alberta (or somewhere close by) where she was employed as a hairdresser and domestic. She was previously employed as a hairdresser in Oslo, Norway. She had a child out of wedlock on Octover 4, 1929 at the Beulah Home in Edmonton, Alberta. That child is my father he was named CAMERON HAVSGAARD, at the time of his birth Miss Havsgaard would not reveal any information about the father. It is a great assumption that he was of Scottish heritage and that his first or last name might have been CAMERON. I do know that he was a painter. Can anyone help me find what happened to my long lost grandmother, and anything about my grandfather.

Thank you.

Could someone tell me if HorseHills,Alta. is located in Strathcona area. Is it part of Edmonton. I am searching for information on Peter Skiffington, born Lanark County, Ontario, November 1854, married to Mary Enright in Lanark Co. on Nov. 23,1881. Peter is listed in an obituary notice here as living in Edmonton in 1915. He is on the Alta. 1901 Census as HorseHills. Does anyone know of any contact where I might be able to obtain further information on this family or if he or his wife are listed in any local history books, and, if so, what could they be listed in? My E-Mail address is SRatt14210@aol.com. I am in Lanark County, Ontario. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sandra.
McEacherns

I am searching for descendants of Neil McEachern & wife Addie Carr originally from Ontario. There children were Neil Alexander, Arthur, Marcy, Flora Adeline and Hugh Gilbert. I believe he travelled west sometime after 1891 and may have travelled to the Ft. Saskachewan area where his brother Donald was living.
