Thanks for the info. The fact that he (Ernie COOK) says he immigrated from Manitoulin Island to Taber means there definitely is a connection, but I can't immediately connect him. Leafing through the "Taber" book you linked me to through Our Roots, I noticed they often listed him as "J. Ernie Cook". I have a Robert John Earnest Cook, b. July 03, 1890 (The "J", could be for John). His brother was William Earnest Cook. In both cases "Ernie" could have been for "Earnest". I think you said your Ernie was born in 1898? Was that the entire article that you had sent me?
