Members of the Alberta Genealogy Society have also recorded cemeteries in the Whitecourt area some 10 years ago. they are presently working to get them online.

Albert Michael REIDY, - 6 Dec 1920 5 wks
Lizzie REIDY, 1889 - 16 Jul 1960
Michael REDIY, 1876 - 1 May 1946
all buried next to each other in the Red Deer cemetery.

Fern Ellen REIDY, 11 Apr 1925 - 12 Dec 1986 nee REIMER
John Charles REIDY, 11 Apr 1919 - 13 Jan 1984 at Vancouver
buried other areas of Red Deer cemetery.

Thomas REIDY, - 20 Sep 1988, buried in Stettler Lakeview cemetery.

Dorothy H. REIDY, - 1 Aug 1998 75yrs, res Calgary, info from Red Deer Advocate, Red Deer.

hi im researching my grand uncles who emigrated to canada from limerick ireland to the woodlands red deer alberta,they are nehemiah and michael reidy they appear on the canadain census 1911.nehemiah died in 1982 age 92 yrs ihave no information on his brother michael reidy if anyone can help

There was a Clarence Hines family in the area in 1929 and they eventualy moved to Westlock alta in 1933 - You can view info on the "Local and Alberta Histories collection " site

The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists some 60 John TAYLOR names;

I check all these for a death of about 1922, but none. And none near the area of Mahaska, which was an old Post Office some 18 miles north of Peers, or about 40 Miles north east of Edson.

You might want to repost. It is important to post the name/s of Interst on the Subject Line.
Surname in Capital Letters, followed by the given name, Location if known
People who may be able to assist may not known where Mahaska Alberta is - may not read the message -but may respond to a surname.

The rest can be included in the body of the message.
Surnames always in Capital letters even in the message - makes reading the message, finding the names much easier for those attempting to help.

backroad mapbook shows it just east of shining bank which is south of whitecourt/mayerthorpe

We were there yesterday looking for the cemetery and had no luck. There were a handful of farms in the area but no identifiable community.

My Grandmother, Agnes Edith Buxton b. 27/03/86 died in Calgary on Nov 28/59 and was buried in Whitecourt Cemetary.
Is there someone who would be willing to lookup the obituary in the newspaper at Whitecourt. Any help would be appreciated.

Drolet Creek (1920), in Alberta, has been called in honour of a Drolet. I believe Drolet Creek is in Woodland Buffalo Park, or close to it. Does anyone know of this Drolet's first name ? and perhaps more info, if you have it. Thank you very much !

Did you ever fine that Mahaska place? It is 200 km west of Edmonton and a bit north of Carrot Creek, not on any map.

You can find it by doing a search on "Canada National Archives" and find the link to the Post Office.
