If you want a Birth Certificate - extract of basic information taken from the Birth Registration.
you will need to apply to the Govt of Alberta - Vital Statistics Registry office in Edmonton.

Contains all personal information required at the time.
Includes place of birth.
The Cost is in the $40 range.
If there had been a hospital in the area - at the time of birth - and if your mother had been born in hospital -there would have been a record / ledger. If so - this may have been forwarded to the Provincial Archive in Edmonton. You could contact them, they would be able to advise.
