Hi Becky, I have no idea where the Perdues landed but they settled in Halton (near Toronto, ON). I think William may be related to me but can't prove it. My theory is his son Joseph (born at sea) is my great great grandfather.

What I do know is William's first wife died and he re remarried. Joseph got a land grant and moved to an area near present day Owen Sound, ON. I've seen the original property and a family of Perdue's live nearby. We never could prove how we are connected but I think it's through the original 6 brothers. As the west opened up Joseph's sons headed to New Westminster BC. However the eldest son William settled in Michigan. My dad Joseph's grandson(92 and still living) was an orphan. He remembers being visited by two cousins while there. I actually found them as our searches crossed paths. Their father Edwin Darcel Perdue (1886- 1932)brought them to visit. He spoke French. According to my research they couldn't have been 1st cousins. We never did figure out the connection. If you are able to find anything, please let me know. Thanks Catherine
