Hi J Laprise,
Have just seen your post re John Brydson who died 1911 with the sinking of the SS Iroquois.
John is a distant relation to me on my fathers side.(4th cousin )He was born 16th October 1878 at Buittle,Kirkcudbrightshire. He was the illegitimate son of Marion Brydson, who was the first daughter of Alexander Brydson 1825-1888 and his wife Elizabeth Knowles 1827-1896.
On John & Elizabeths headstone in Buittle cemetery, the stone is inscribed with ......
"John Brydson, grandson of Alexander Brydson: who was drowned in the wreck of the 'Iroquois', 10th April 1911, aged 32 years. Interred at Ross Bay Cemetery, Victoria".
Love the scan of the telegram,to the point but brutal.

Rgds Matt.
