Hi there,

Recently, my mother found out that her great uncle died on that boat when it sank and he is buried in the Ross Bay Cemetery. His name has been misspelled in a few places, but it was, indeed him. His name was John Brydson and he was from Scotland. Two years ago my mother made a trip to Scotland to visit some of our few remaining relatives and she was given a package of old letters. In amongst those letters was a telegram from Victoria advising her that her son had drowned. I have attached a scan of this telegram. My grandmother, Cedric Grohn (nee Brydson) is still alive and is quite happy to hear that we have located his grave as well as the letters and telegram. She lost all of her immediate family members a long time ago, so this has been wonderful for her. I just thought I would share this with you:-)
