Terry family from Bletchingley Surrey

Hi I am researching the family of Frederick William Terry (b:1871 in Bletchingley Surrey) who married my GAunt Mary Agnes Mears (b: 1877 in Woolwich)and came to Canada in 1903, I think. They had two children that I know about Frederick Harold(b:1899)and Edith May (1901) in England and possible another daughter called Dorothy (b:1902)? I believe Agnes died in 1907 and Frederick married again to Alice Armstrong. Both Father and son came back to England to fight in WW1, I have attestation papers and survived I think, they lived in Kootenay? Agnes was one of a large family and I know that three of her sisters also came to Canada in 1907 - if anyone is out there who know of this family I would be delighted to make contact and perhaps pass on what I have about them if you are interested. Thank you Frances

Looking for Info about BROWNING.---Charles Albert ,Born in Plymouth,Devon in 1869 who was the Uncle of John Thomas Browning, born in Plymouth Devon 1872. I guess more like brothers. I have found Charles in census 1901,06,11 Reginia Saskatchewen.ARE THERE ANY MORETO VIEW?

Appears to be a farmer and not married, though he may later. Would like to know more and when or where he died.
John Thomas Browning was the son of the same name. Census on line SO hard to read in 1911,Moyie BC. can't make out the occupation or find him on another census. Indicates he is married to an English girl called Margarete and they have a son called John Kenneth born in Alberta. I have found a DEATH of a JTB in New Westminster 18 may 1956 Aged 83.Seems most likely to be the one,but nothing more about Wife or son-- the marriage or further children. I am new to researching in Canada so can anyone help me or give me a few tips on where I should be looking.Would be very appreciative. HAPPY NEW YEAR! DI from West Sussex

searching for info on Emily Perkins, and family of Clifford Vance

My father is dying and has expressed an interest in finding the ancestry of his maternal grandmother, Emily Perkins of Kaslo, British Columbia. I have no further information which I can provide. I do not even know her maiden name.

The second request is from me requesting any information on the ancestry of my grandfather Clifford Vance. His father is buried in the cemetary in Creston B.C., but I don't even know his first name. I was told that the family moved west from Ontario around the time of the Lizzie Borden murders. They first settled in Alberta where the city of Calgary is now located and then moved to British Columbia. My great-grandfather operated a horse logging operation in the Kootenays along with his two sons: Clifford and Gordon Robert Vance. Clifford settled in Kimberley in the late 1920's and worked for Cominco. He married Ida Rose Perkins of Kaslo B.C. July 26,1929 and they raised a family of three in Kimberley. Clifford Vance passed away in Kimberley B.C. in March of 1995 while Ida passed away August 5,1994.
They are both buried in the Kimberley cemetary.
Any information which could be provided would be appreciated!
Sam LARSEN of Rock Creek / Greenwood

I am researching the family of Eliza (Shirey) LORD. She and her husband, Winfield LORD immigrated to British Columbia circa 1894. They lived in Rossland Riding according to the 1901 census. Eliza returned to Washington by 1910 and Winfield remained with their son Elbridge until some time after 1911 when he moved to Oregon.

Son Elbridge or Eldridge LORD resided in Rossland Riding, Kettle River Valley and Rock Creek from 1899 until 1936 when he died in Rock Creek. His death certificate shows that his sister Mrs. S. LARSEN of Greenwood provided the information.

Elbridge's wife Nora Bell LORD died at the Sam LARSEN ranch in Rock Creek in 1915.

Eliza and Winfield LORD's daughter, Alvena M. LARSEN died in Bremerton, Kitsap Co, WA in 1950. Alvena and her first husband, William P. DAVIS lived in Rossland Riding between 1894 and at least 1901. I can not find them anywhere in census records after 1901.

So who is this Sam LARSEN? ... is he the hotel keeper Samuel T. LARSEN born in June 1867 in Sweden with wife Laura found in the 1911 Canadian census in Greenwood Riding?

Any information about Sam LARSEN or the LORD family will greatly appreciated.

Searching for Fossett family: Hugh, railroad engineer; Ann; Francis, b in Trail 1903; James b in Trail 1905, d in fire in annex of Trail Hotel 1906. Francis started school in Grand Forks about 1908. The family also lived in other places in Kootenay County, being moved around by CPR. I would be interested in a photograph of Trail Hotel in this period; the family lived in the annex of the hotel. An article in the Trail newspaper for March 1906 gives details of fire and death of baby James, but spells the name Fawcett.

On 22 April 1964, Alfred Eric Torikka, 61 years old, was buried in the Old General Cemetery in Cranbrook, in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. An employee of Crestbrook Lumber until September 1963, he had died in Canal Flats on the 19th of April.
Alf Torikka was a native of northern Sweden, born into a Finnish-speaking family in Luppio, Sweden, in 1903. He had lived in Canal Flats for eight years and was a resident of Canada since 1924.
Present at Alf Torikka's burial in Cranbrook were his brother Axel, who lived in Vancouver, and a woman, possibly in her forties, accompanied by two small children, a boy and a girl. As far as we knew, he was single.
I would be happy to get in touch with anyone who knows anything about my great-uncle Alfred and his life in Canada. I don't know where he lived before he moved to Canal Flats around 1955, but It was in British Columbia.
Regards
Sture Torikka
Bredviksvägen 31
S-974 41 Luleå
Sweden
sture.torikka@bredband.net
Looking for an address

I lived in Trail Warfield back in 1959 through to 1962. My sister and her twin were born on the 1st of August 1960 in the local Trail Hospital. I remember Trail as a magical place to grow up if you loved nature as I did. I was only nine when I left and I think I was a very young nine. I didn't realise I was leaving so it was a great shock to me.
Now I tell people that it was just us and the bears when we were growing up which is not far from the the truth!. My sister is hoping to make a visit to Trail this summer but I realise that I don't have my old address and I hope there might be somebody who remembers us. In Warfield there was a brilliant girl called Lola who would organise these complicated games of hide and seek in the basements and next-door to us there was a really nice looking boy called Beaureguard. They also had an enormous walnut tree in their garden.
When we moved to Trail the house wasn't nearly so nice and it was facing the smelter, behind was a worked out gravel pit. We lived in the last house on the end of the road. My parents were english called Bette and Lionel Parry with three girls Siobhan Gabrielle (me) Paula then the twins who were born in Trail. They attended the Catholic Church and I think it was the one in the Gulch. I would be most grateful if anybody could shed any light on our past as even my sister's birth certificate just gives BC and there is no one left to ask. So thank you

I'm trying to find who was in Ainsworth in 1891. Looking at the census the 3 towns, Nelson, Ainsworth, and Sproat's Landing, all seem to be lumped together. I see Ainsowrth people scattered throughout. Has anyone been able to sor this out?

I'm searching for any information on a Thomas Enright from County kerry in Ireland. Born in 1889, he emigrated to Canada pre WW1 and served in the Canadian Army during that war. He married a Mary White, also from Kerry, Ireland in August 1918 at Nelson, Kootenay Coounty. His occupation was listed variously as farmer, labourer and barber. On his return to Ireland in 1918/1919, he joined the RIC (British police force in Ireland before independence) and was shot dead in December 1921. His wife Mary, may have returned to Canada.
