I am trying to locate MacTavish cousins who were living in Victoria, BC in the 1970's. I have an address which was found in my great-Aunt Elizabeth (MacTavish) Furry's book. I have found that Ian MacTavish lived there at the time.
My ancestors:
Lachlan and Mary (Campbell) MacTavish married in Glassary parish, Argyll, SCO in 1829. Children: Margaret (1830), Euphemia (1832), John (1835), Patty or Betsy (1838), Alexander (1840), Duncan (1843-unconfirmed), Lachlan (1846-unconfirmed).
Son John MacTavish married Alice Hamilton in Liverpool in 1862. They had: Duncan(1875, Greenock) married Elizabeth McVittie, James (died in his 20's), Alexander married Mary Crawford, Mary, Agnes (1873, Greenock) married Robert Wright, Ellison married 1st William Connell 2nd Albert Don Davidson, Margaret, Elizabeth married Robert Robb, John 1st Murial Blair 2nd Margarite?, Jane married John Climie.
Duncan and Elizabeth had the following children: Elizabeth, Lilian Mary, Duncan Hamilton, Alexander James. They moved from Scotland to Fort Erie, Ontario in 1907. I am Lilian's grand-daughter.
Jane Climie and Elizabeth Robb stayed in Scotland. Ellison lived in Winnipeg. Alexander and John had gone to South America to invest in railroad development. Lost investment when government took control. Alexander is believed to have gone back to Scotland. Have photo of John's children Ian and Burton(?) with their Grandmother Alice in 1929 in Scotland.
Looking for descendants of any of the above...particularly Ian.
