I don't have a birth date on Herbert. I ordered a copy of his marriage certificate in hopes of finding it on there, but no luck. The census gives a birth date of about 1893 in Guisboro, Yorkshire England. He married Daisy Florence Dodd in 1915 (Godstone 2a 391 Q1). They had four childern, Edith Amelia, Audrey, Charles Ronald (my grandfather) and Leonard.
I haven't had a lot of time to spend on this, and being new to this kind of research, it hasn't gotten me very far down the road with the facts, however it is somewhere to start.
My grandfather told us his father "Herbert" was Chief of Police, not sure if he meant in Ontario or England..... He is now deceased, otherwise this would be a much easier journey.
