Hello all! I am searching for information on a Mary A Lindsay, born in 1835 in Canada. Her parents were both born in Ireland. Father’s name could possible be John Lindsay. More information listed below.

Born in Canada, Mary A Lindsay moved to Illinois early in life and later went to California with her children behind an ox team in 1852. The family came to Butte, Montana in 1881 on one of the first passenger trains over the rails just laid of the old Utah & Northern railway. Mrs. Smith lived in Butte until her death in 1908. The Smith family does appears on an 1880 US census living in Elko, Elko Co., Nevada. Listed on this census is S G Smith (head), M A (wife), Unknown (daughter), Guy (son), W Bachelor (step-son), Nettie Bachelor (step daughter).
