I am part of a group of researchers that are in the process of putting together a sort of grading system/challenge on all of the Provincial Archives in Canada. While this is in no way a scientific study, it is more of a fun grading system. However, it may be of some use for Archives if they were interested in comparing themselves with other Provincial systems… they may reference this grassroots grading system and who knows, it may just help in making their services better if they know what they needed to fix/upgrade (especially if they fair poorly on their grading),
The draft website is here … http://www.heritagecharlotte.com/bestgenealogy/
(this is a draft... the actually grading system in not online yet and open for discussion once the complete group is formed)
With this said, we are looking others to assist in this project however there are few requirements: 1) you must belong to a provincial genealogical association/society; or associated with an educational institute (university); or an author of a genealogical book/publication 2) you must be Canadian; plus only a certain number of participants from each province (ideally we would like at least 1-2 people from each province).
Interested? Deadline is Oct 31... a conference call will take place in early November. Please reply below or message me directly.
