I'm trying to find all the immigrants from my own little village in Sweden named Nordannälden. It's about 145 people living there right now, and about a third of the households had familymembers that left for Amerika. Now I'm trying to find two brothers; Nils Larsson born 16 sep 1870 and Erik Larsson born 4 march 1873. I don't know if they went to USA or Canada, but I start here and see how it turns out.
Nils left Sweden in May 1892 and Erik in May 1893.
Their parents's names were Lars Ifvarsson and Magdalena Andersdotter.
It is also possible that they at some point stayed in McIntosh, Minnesota, since four other people from the same village, four as I know so far, lived there around 1900. But, just as many of them went to Canada and then to USA so I thought I'd start here.

Searching for Ralph Calvert who would be in his late 50s to early 60s. I believe he was from the prairies. He was in Vancouver B.C. around 1967 or 68 and we were good friends hanging out at my place on 4th Avenue...living on sunflower seeds and music. Hi,

I'm looking for the cemetery where my Grandparents are buried. My Grandfather, Joseph Norbert Leclerc was born July 27 1862 (L'Islet, Qc) and died on March 27 1919.

My Grandmother, Marie "Elise" Babin was born on March 16, 1872 in Caplan, Qc. Elise died on Nov. 15, 1919.

Both Grandparents are buried in Montreal, which cemetery I do not know. Their deaths are recorded with the parish records of the Basilica of Notre Dame. The parish they belonged to is St. ( ? ) de Jesus?? Would someone know the name of this parish?
I certainly appreciate any help in this search.

My ggrandparents, Michael Riley and Margaret Shannon, both born in Ireland in the 1830's, lived somwhere in Canada for several years, and may have wed there (no marriage record has been found in Ireland.) Their first three children were born in Canada during the 1860's according to the 1870 U.S. census. They settled in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan, in the town of Negaunee.
Any help or suggestions in tracking down their residence prior to Michigan in 1870 would be greatly appreciated.

Marie Louise was born 3 July 1881 Montebello,Que. In 1902,July 2 Mattawa,On. she married her cousin Augustin Sarrazin. Now they moved back to either Ottawa or Hull after their marriage. She died between 1914 -1927.
Marie Louise Sarrazin was the daugher of Laurent Sarrazin and Elionore Richer.

One of my ancestors is Thomas D'Arcy Mcgee, the Irish poet who became one of the Fathers of Conferderation. He had a daughter named Euphrasia, who went by the nickname "Fasa." She married an unknown Quinn man sometime after McGee's assassination in 1868. Does anybody know who this mysterious Quinn might be, or how I might find out?

Seeking family info - ancestors and descendants of Robert Nichol, MLA for Norfolk County, Ontario and QMG of Militia during the War of 1812. Had at least one brother, Walter, and Robert's grandson, Walter Nichol, was Lt-Governor of B.C. c. 1920. According to Dictionary of Canadian Biography Robert Nichol may have been related to the Dickson and Hamilton merchant families of early Niagara, UC. Robert Nichol married Theresa Wright,(c. 1796-?), dau. of Theresa Grant and British military surgeon Thomas Wright/Reyht; Theresa Grant's parents were Commodore Alexander Grant (1734-1813) and Therese Barthe (1758-1810).At least one source suggests Therese Barthe was related to the Shawnee war leader, Tecumseh. Also seeking info about Theresa Wright Nichol's second marriage to David Boyd, RN, which took place in the Niagara area 29 July 1837. Have found some information online but does not seem to extend beyond the late 1800s.

I've found some family members indexed here at ancestry in "Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967" but I don't have a world subscription, and don't really need one. This is a favor for my sister-in-law, and I don't expect to be doing any further research on this line. Her father abandoned her and her sister when they were toddlers. I need help tracking down Fredrik. The spelling of his name may have altered, but he was born as Fredrik Nikolai PEDERSEN, 8 Aug 1889, at Melø in Øksnes, Nordland, Norway. He was christened in Sep 1889.

He was the sixth child of Karl Teodor PEDERSEN and Elise Bergitte CHRISTIANSDATTER. Karl died in 1892 in Norway. Elise and children emigrated to America, settling first in Minnesota, eventually most to Washington state, with PEDERSON spelling.

Fredrik was believed to have moved to Canada.

Need Help identifying a place name in document

on the Canada Birth Records, there is a record for my great, great uncle: Leo John McGrady.

I am very excited with this find, I now know his mother's (my great great grandmother's) maiden name.

The record lists the place of marriage for Leo's parents as somewhere in England. This is the first time I have traced ancestry in the British isles recent enough to find information in census records. It looks something like Whiteleams. It states the place of marriage is also located in the county of York, possibly meaning Yorkshire?

I am hoping someone might have info. about my ancestors who emigrated to Canada. James Owens (a farmer) and his wife set sail about 1824, their son Peter Allen Owens was born on the journey. They landed in New York and eventually travelled on to Montreal. I know that they had a daughter Mary born in Montreal about 1843. A gap of nearly 20 years from the birth of Peter - so presumably there were children in between. A late member of the Boulder (CO) Genealogical Society compiled lots of French & French-Canadian research. BGS was given her research and maybe some one would like to have it. Essentially it fills two wine case size boxes. The writing of the late BGS member is both beautiful and readable.

Hello:

I am trying to find out where Maud Emma Dopson, nee Handicott ended up after 1920. I can not find death or burial records on FreeBMD for her in either name so I am going to assume she immigrated elsewhere.

She would have relations in England and Australia, and posssibly in New York and Canada.

Maud was born Uxbridge England Jan 14 1892 and married Frederick Thomas Dopson, who filed for divorce in 1919 but it appears she did not grant him one and his new wife, Emma legally changed her last name to match her husbands.

Maud apparently had a lover named David Floyd or Floyd David - the documents are confusing at best. She may or may not have been able to remarry and may or may not have continued a relation with this man....

Any help locating her would be appreciated.

Ethel Alice was my grandmother, who emigrated to North Bay, Ontario in 1911, but is thought to have moved to Alberta or elsewhere later in life (after 1940). Any info gratefully received. I would like to know especially when and where she died.

Catherine McLean Greenlees was born 1 January 1853, but I do not know where. Her birthplace has been listed as Scotland, Quebec and at sea. I have started checking Scotland, but she has not shown up where her family lived, in Paisley. Can anyone suggest how to find her birth if it was in Quebec? or at sea? Does anyone have mention of any Greenlees in Quebec at that time? Her parents were Robert and Jane.

I am presently looking for any information on the bergeron family.My great grandfather was born in or near Quebec . he was born in the 1870s give or take ten years to be safe. He ended up comming to the upper penninsula of michigan . HEand possibly some of his family lived in the Garden area,Nahma,fayette,and eventually Gladstone MI. He passed away in the late 1930s.I do not know any of his siblings names or even his parents names.his name was Arthur Joseph bergeron.But somewhere along the line the "r" was dropped and the name became bergeon.Also he had 4 sons tellis,arthur,george,and floyd and three daughters,lucille,lillian,and one other.He also was married to Agnes Farley from the garden area.they eventually divorced.If anyone has any info on this line i would really appreciate it . thanks cindy bergeon

I am trying to find descendants of a William John Richoly Burfoot born County Wicklow about 1886. He married a Catherine Campbell from Scotland, I think in 1905. They had two daughters Kathleen Ethel (1906) and Eyhue (1909). (Eyhue changed her name to Muriel, as she didn't like it). They lived in Dublin for the beginning of their marriage in Stamer Street, West Side (Wood Quay, Dublin). When he lived here he worked as a Chauffeur/Mechanic & Valet.

I was told that during WW1 William went to England to join up, and Catherine followed to be a VAD (so far the authorities have said they have no record of Catherine).

This is the IMPORTANT bit. After WW1, William left and went to Canada to start a new life. Catherine followed, and then the girls followed on. I have Catherine leaving Ireland for Canada in 1919 and the girls following in 1920. The girls were 12 and 14 at the time. What I was told was that William became a Travelling salesman, who worked between Canada and the USA. He also married an American lady and started a second family without getting a divorce.

His daughter Ethel, asked her father to make a choice, which he did. And it wasn't her mother so she decided to head back to Ireland. Muriel (Eyhue) eventually went to live in Florida.

I know someone tried to get in touch with Ethel and she didn't want to know. If that was you please contact me as I would love to hear from you.

If anyone has any information that might help me discover that side of my family, please let me know.

I am looking to find the maiden name of my great grandmother, Mary ? (b. 1883). She married Peter WHALEN (b. 1856 Camden East, Ontario, Canada) in 1901 or 1902. They had two children, Mary (b. 1903) and Thomas (b. 1911) in Canada before coming to the U.S. in 1919. Peter died in 1926 in Hungerford, Ontario, Canada.
Peter's first wife Mary CAVANAUGH died in Michigan in 1901.

Trying to trac my fathers mothers side. I have cencus from the US 1900 cencus that show my grandmother ( Frances CARTER ) 11 years old and living with hwe grandmother in Glens Falls NY. The grandmother's nmame was Fannie L JONBERT. It shows that she was 69 years olg at that time and born in 'canadian Frenh'.Now, I think that means probly Quebec but am not sure. I am looking for information about my great Uncle Russell Harris born abt 1922 in Ontario. His parents are Russell Harris born abt 1895 in Whitby Ontario and Beatrice Cunning born abt 1902 in Montreal Quebec. I have heard rumors that he was the twin brother of my grandfather, Harold Russell Harris. I have also heard that he might have been killed VERY early in his life. However, my father isnt sure if it is true or not since my grandfather never spoke about his brother at all.
Any help would be WONDERFUL since his birth isnt in the time frame of this sites Ontario birth records.

Howard and Grace Fill

In 1942, Howard Fill was in England with the Canadian Army. He married Grace Bray in Birmingham and they both went to live in Canada. This is a really long shot, because I don't know where in Canada Howard was from or where they went to live.

All I have is a marriage certificate and the only clue I have from this certificate, is that Howard's father James is also a soldier.

I do have a photo of Howard and Grace's wedding.

I would love to hear from anyone who may have information about Grace and Howard.

Looking for any information on these two. They are my great grandparents born in Marseille France and died in Ontario, Canada. My Great Grandmother Belle said she had no family and was brought up by nuns. Said she was somehow related to the Papineau. She said she had no family. As for Arthur I have no information other than he worked with furs in Toronto with the hudson Bay company. I have not found out any info. Belle would have been born about 1889 or around there. i am not sure about Arthur. Please, if you can help me locate these two it would greatly appreciated!!!!
