I have no info. unfortunately but I myself am in search of a Mary Sawchuk(Sopchuk,Sopczuk)she was born August 23, 1926 in the Manitoba Or Saskatchewan Area. She is my mother's biological mother. All we know is she was raised in a foster home or orphanage until she was 18. SHe came to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and delivered my mother there. WHere she went after that is unknown. My mother was also left in a home to be raised. I am looking for any info. Thanks.

I am researching information on my grand and great grandparents who resided in the Gardenton area in the early to mid-1900s. The Nickola and Wasyl Sidor (Sedor) families who immigrated in 1897 and 1898 lived south of Gardenton. The Iwan (Ivan) and Safta (nee Cheredaryk) family also lived there as well as some of their family - daughter Katherine m. Stefan Soprowich.
Have gathered as much info as possible from Man.Vital Stats and V.Kaye Dictionary and would like to find more info on their siblings, children and families.
Am sure that some lived in the Arbakka, Sundown, and Sirko areas as well as Vita in later years.

I am looking for more information on Mike Zomber's burial site & any other info you may have to offer. Born about 1877 in Austria to Marcin Zomber & Eva Osoka (?); married to Agnes Niemczyk; children Frank, Joe, Anton, Lilly and Agnes. I have his marraige certificate and 1906 census and a few birth records for children. Cannot locate any information on immigration other than 1899 & cannot find on 1901 or 1911 censuses. I am waiting for death certificate however only know died in Manitoba late 1944 or early 1945. Any info on daughters Lilly or Agnes would be greatly appreciated. Know only that Lilly married a Charles Larson in 1925 & think that Agnes married a Bailey and moved to Ontario - her son may have been one of the known Bailey hockey players.

Need assistance - William Kruse killed in Whitemouth 8-2-1913

I have been attempting to track my great grandfather. If you live in or near Whitemouth, I could use your help.

Thanks to another person, a vitalstat record was found for a William Kruse who died in Whitemouth on 8-2-1913.

The family story was that William and Anna Kruse were working for a logging company near Winnipeg. William was employed when he died doing something with the payroll. The story continues that he was carrying the payroll to the logging camp, was attacked, shot and left dead on the rail road track. he was buried and the location was lost with my great grandmother death in 1947. I believe Whitemouth was a logging town with rail access and the river...which fits into the family story.

At the time of his death, he had five US born children (Albert, William Jr, John, Victor), two use born daughters (Victoria and Josephine) and two canadian born daughters (Anna and Bertha).

There may be some orphanage records as well for some of the youngest childrn.

I would like to find all the records that exist. Hopefully there is an obit, newspaper stories on the murder, etc. I would expecially like to locate his grave.

If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it.

I'm researching my family tree and have hit a snag. My father, Joseph George Parisien born Sept. 17, 1925 in Sandilands, MB married on June 16, 1951 in Wpg., MB Mary Ethel "Connie" Smith.

His father Arthur Parisien "Archie" born ~ 1904 in Sandliands, MB married on Nov, 6, 1923 in Wpg., MB Josephine Henry born ~ 1901 in Sandilands, MB. Josephine was previously married to Frank Paubid (sp?).

Some of Arthur's brothers' names are David, Leslie and Delbert Parisien.

Arthur's father Edward Parisien married Marie Gishorne.

Josephine's father John Henry married Minnie Nefoile (sp?).

William John Borland was my great-grandfather. He was born,
according to Manitoba 1901 census, Nov 9, 1863 but I do not know where he was born. Married Francis Delila Mathews Nov 7, 1883 in Ste Anne Manitoba. I cannot find anything on Francis except she was born in 1864 and died at age 25 ( July 25, 1889.

William and Francis had three children:

Charlotte Mildred 01/02 1885
Dora Maud 01/07/ 1886 ( my grandmother )
Francis Elizabeth birth and death recorded as 07/15/1889 -
10 days before her mother died.

William remarried a Janet McQuade ( not sure of date yet - but they are on 1901 Manitoba census.

Does anyone have information on birthplace of William John Borland, father, mother etc.

Also, any information on my great grandmother Francis Delila Mathews - birth place, parents etc.

Your help would be most appreciated.

LYDIATT - Where exactly was it?

I know that Lydiatt was around Beasejour somewhere but can anyone tell me exactly where it was? The Otto family lived in/or around Lydiatt in the early 1900's, having moved north from Yankton, SD. Other families intermarried with the Otto's were the Adolphs, Steinhauers, Loebs. I have tried checking the 1901 census for St. Clements but there are so many pages missing. These families were all Germans from Russia - Bangert, Saratov Province to be exact. Any local history books? What was the name of the local paper back in 1901? Any help appreciated.

We will be traveling to Winnipeg on June 28 and be there for three or four days. Our intent is to find information about my grandfather and his family and to see the general areas in which they lived.

My grandfather lived and farmed in Gimli in the time 1910 to 1915. They then moved to Sask. and farmed until moving to Sask to farm until the early 1920s.

I have previously looked at theland grand records and found nothing for the family. It is probably that the family did not remain on the land long enough to qualify for the land.

If we are successful in finding information, we would probably extend the stay to allow further gathering of information.

Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 1976 at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. and Luxton Ave., with Pastor W. S. Schindel officiating. Interment followed in the Gull Lake Cemetery."

"Suddenly in Winnipeg on December 13, 1976, Frank Dopheide; aged 59 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Cathy Dopheide.

Born in Harriem, The Netherlands, Mr. Dopheide came to Canada in 1951. He operated his own riding schools in the Charleswood, Headingly area since 1955, and for the past ten years in Springfield at Spruce Acres. Mr. Dopheide had been Master of fox hounds of the Springfirld Hunt Club.

Predeceased by his father in 1937 and his brother Willem in 1973, he leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Cathy; sons E. Peter and Robin P.; daughter Teela I., all at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. E. Dopheide of The Netherlands and his mother - in - law, Mrs. C. M. Deutekam at home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, at Oakbank United Church, 582 Balsam Cres., Oakbank, Rev. R. Clark will officiate. Interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Oakbank.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be sent to the Manitoba Heart Foundation, 352 Donald St..

Friends may pay thir respects Thursday evening 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Mordue Bros. Funeral Home, Broadway and Edmonton.

My ancestor TAILLEFER Jean Louis was born in 1845 in Gilly/Isere ( Savoie - France ). His wife POMMIER Julienne arrived in Altamon ( Manitoba ) in 1891. They had 5 children, Josephine and Marie Françoise born in France and 3 in Altamon ( Alfred born in 1896, Marie Henrietta born in1891 and Marie Delima born in 1893).

POMMIER Julienne died in 1918.
I 'm interested by all informations about them and their children and all the way to find ancestor in Canada.

Thomas Bouchard and Cedulie Boily were from Baie-St-Paul, Quebec. They moved to St-Boniface around 1900.

I have a letter from him dated Jan. 27, 1927. In this letter, he says he works for the government since 1914, that he is the father of a daugther, Therese Bouchard, 25 yo, who is a clerk at St-Boniface City Hall, has a son, 23 yo, living in Fort Frances, another daughter 21 yo and a son, 17 yo.

I am searching for any information concerning this family and descendants of Thomas and Cedulie.

"The funeral of the late Miss Isabella Margaret Mathewson took place on Tuesday at 11 o'clock from her father's residence, Springfield, to Moose Nose cemetery. An expressive ceremony was conducted at the residence and also at the grave by Rev. Alex. Mathewson, uncle of deceased.

About 200 people gathered to pay a last tribute of respect to their departed friend and companion, including many from Winnipeg. The floral tributes were both numerous and beautiful. Among them were a large wreath from "Her Loving Sisters"; wreath, Henry Hodgson; spray Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Colbert, of Winnipeg; spray, Mrs. J. A. Carr; spray, Mr. F. A. Robertson; cross, Milton Bumond; Star, Alice and Bell Bumond; bouquet, Miss Mary McFadden; and many others not bearing cards. The pallbearers were: Messrs. N. Morrison, ?.C. Bumond, J. W. Gunn Sr., J. W. Gunn Jr., J. A. Matheson, and D. Sutherland."

William Duncan Kerr and family

Hit a brick wall. Looking for info on William Duncan Kerr, section 8, township 6, range 3, on both the 1901 and 1906 censuses. My GGrandfather, born 14 Oct 1877? (documents have differing ages)

Where did he come from? Info on a baptismal certificate of one of his sons states Keene, Ont.
He married Pheobe Baldwin 5 Jun 1901and had two sons, Harry and Peter before she died in 1907. However the 1906 census lists more children than that and my grandfather Peter is not listed.

Will is believed to have married twice more, he was widowed a second time and the third wife outlived him. Have no names or dates. During this time more children were born, including a daughter Olive.

It is also belived that one of the wives died shortly after giving birth and the supposed son was given up for adoption.

The sons from the first marriage, Harry and Peter, married Bateman sisters from the same area of Manitoba.

I would greatly appreciate any info on William Duncan Kerr, his subsequent wives and children.

My ancestor Isaac HART moved to Manitoba from Simcoe County, Ontario sometime prior to 1887. He died in Manitoba but I do not have a date let alone a cemetary location. Family lore has it that he moved to Sand Hills?? or possibly Portage La Prairie and opened a store. Is there a town/city in Manitoba called Sand Hills? I have found a reference to a Sand Hills Provincial forest but no town by this name. Could anyone steer me in the righ direction please?

Names of particular interest: Lillian Frances Maltais, born 1-21-1879.

A sister named Stella, not sure of birthdate. We are also not sure if she used the last name Maltais. She could have used Champoux, or a derivative of it. Please contact me with ANY information - we have hit brick walls!

I am searching for further information about John PARR who appears in the 1881 census for Winnipeg, Selkirk, Manitoba. In 1881 John was 40 years old and employed as a messenger by the CPR. John was born in Ontario. His wife's name was Martha Parr and she was 38 years old and born in Ireland. The census lists the following children: Harriet E Parr, 11 years old, born in Ontario; Harry Parr, 10 years old, born in Ontario; John C Parr, 6 years old, born in Ontario; Marion Parr, 4 years old, born in Manitoba and Mary E Parr, 2 years old, born in Manitoba. I would like to find out if this John Parr is my great, great uncle. His place of birth and age match with the information I hold about my great, great uncle. The parents of my great, great uncle were Amos Parr and Grace Pettet.

Served WW1-2nd Depot Battalion of the 2nd. Quebec Regiment 1917, stationed in Canada & England
- then transferred to the 22nd. Battalion for action in France
His funeral was paid for by the last post fund and he is buried in Sudbury Canada.
He did not die in the war.
