Hello. My family homesteaded the Inwood, Manitoba, area and I've done a bit of searching for information.
Sorry, there's no connection to your family name. There are two possibilities for the Inwood, MB, name : the original post office was near a settler's house and, literally, in the woods. The second is that when the railway line reached Cossette's (the old name), it looped a bit further one to enable it to return to Winnipeg. The loop, of course, was also in the woods. I've never been able to find out which version is the correct one.
