well it could be one of two william rutledges'
the first one was rev. william rutledge and he did marry in winnipeg but i no longer have his marriage record.i believe he was from ontario or quebec and i know he went back to ontario when he left here.he also served as minister for some of my family but as far as i know there was no connection.
the other one was william c rutledge and he was borncirca1857 in howick to christopher rutledge and priscilla rowe. priscilla died in 1865 and christopher married her sister elizabeth and had lots more kids and they came to manitoba in 1873 and christopher worked as a teamster.he died suddenly in 1877 and left liz with all these kids.she lived to age 92 in 1928.
i have a record of a marriage between william rutledge of winnipeg to lucy wood on may 29,1882 at holy trinity church.
i have a baptism of josephine wilmink? birtdate june 6,1885 father william c rutledge mother lucy f a wood,father's occupation carpenter,residence corner of princess ave. and alexander-date of baptism july 20,1885
i also have addresses for him from henderson directories for 33 jemina as a carpenter and in 1886 at 106 alexander as a carpenter.he had a bro john who was a bartender at potter house at corner of main and notre dame.
are you sure your dates are right for william and lucy as 1854.
