AUGUST BENSON PIONEER OF OAK BLUFF, IS DEAD

Had been a resident of district for 46 years - Funeral on Monday

August BENSON, for the last forty-six years a prominebt farmer in the
Oak Bluff District, died in Winnipeg Friday, aged 69 years.
He is survived by a widow; two sons; Arthur and Olaf, and two daughters, Mrs. Kerry Wigg, now of
England, and Gertrude, at home; also one sister Mrs. Nls Larson of Starbuck, and one brother
Oliver farming at Inwood.
Funeral services will be held from Gardener's on Monday, October 8 at 4:00 p.m. to Elmwood Cemetery.

April 17, at the Sanford manse,
Christine, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Skagfjord, of Winnipegosis,
united in marriage to Mr.
Arthur BENSON, eldest son of Mrs.
Benson and the late August BENSON,
of Oak Bluff.
The bride was attired in a sea
blue suite and hat, and wore a
corsage of pink roses. She was attended by
Miss Margaret Pierson, Minnedosa.
Corporal Olaf BENSON. R.C.A.F., was best
Rev. Dr. Letts ofifciatcd.
After spending a short honeymoon
in Winnipeg Mr. and Mrs.
Benson will reside at OAK Bluff.

BENSON—NELSON
The wedding of Gladys, daughter
of Mr. H. Nelson and the late Mrs.
Nelson, and Cpl. Olaf BENSON,
R.C.A.F., son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. August BENSON, OAK Bluff,
Man., took place at 4 p.m., Oct. 28,
at the manse, Sanford, Rev. A. E.
Weaver officiating.
The bride wore a gown of Arctic
sea blue. The full skirt fell in soft
folds from, a bodice embroidered in
tones of gold. Her veil was of
matching blue sheer fashioned into
sweetheart headdress. She wore
a corsage of Johanna Hill roses.
The young couple was attended
by Mrs. J. Macdonald, of Winnipeg,
sister of the bride, and P. Henricksen
of Charleswood.
Cpl. and Mrs. Benson left for a
trip to Winnipeg and points south,
the bride wearing a costume of
black with touches of blue.
