Hello,I am trying to trace any relatives of my Father John Smith McPhail born 1907 Belfast,his parents were Archibald McPhail b.1874 Govan,Lanarkshire,Scotland & Christina Craig Smith b.1874 Fife,Argyle,Scotland.
My Father was sent out to Winnipeg,Canada by "The Ministry of Employment London" 13 April 1928,he sailed on "Cunard Steam Ship Antonio"sailing from Liverpool to Quebec,he was age 20 years old and went on to Winnipeg labouring building a Rail-Road,he stayed for a few years but had returned to Liverpool by 1935 when he married my Mother Bertha Hughes.
Would be glad of any help to fill in the gaps in my Fathers life that I don't know about,he always said he had relations out there but I can't discover who they were,all I have found in my Fathers possessions a photo of a man and women written on the back "Cousin Ballantine,Canada" .
