St. Boniface is 1970/72 was included in Winnipeg and was not then considered a separate town. The newspapers for Winnipeg would be The Winnipeg Free Press and the Winnipeg Tribune. The Tribune later went out of business and now we have the Winnipeg Sun. I don't believe there are any free sites for the papers for the years you require. You could go to the Winnipeg Public Library at http://wpl.winnipeg.ca/library/ and click on Ask a Librarian to have them look up the births or wedding announcements for you in their microfilm copies. There may be others reading this message who have a paid subscription on the internet and might look up these events for you but you would have to give the names and dates that you are looking for. Ancestry has the Free Press but it might not necessarily have every year.
