Alma Blanche Wilson b. Berryton, NB ca. 1890 was the daughter of John and Mabel Wilson. Berryton is supposed to be in Hillsborough Parish, Albert Co., NB.

The closest I can find to such a family in Hillsborough Parish in the 1901 census is John Wilson (15OCT1841) and May (11APR1853) with children: John H. (14AUG1884), James A. (1JAN1887), Bertha A. (3MAR1890), Percy (10APR1891) and Forest (12AUG1897.) Percy Clifford Wilson b. Turtle Creek 22AUG1897 was the s/o John Wesley and Mahala May (Cole) Wilson. John and Mahala also lived in Berryton. Bertha A. would be the unnamed child b. 3MAR1890.

There was also a John H. Wilson and Annie Carson of Berryton who had children about 1905-10. This John H. would appear to have been the John H. in 1901. John Hartley Wilson was b. Berryton 18AUG1883. (The dates in 1901 are often incorrect.) William Leeman's death registration gives his wife as Alma B. Leeman. They apparently lived in Berryton all of their lives. In Hillsborough Parish in 1911, Alma B. is b. MAR1890. On the next page is John H. Wilson (AUG1884) and family next to John W. (APR1842) and Mahalia (APR1855) Wilson and family. Presumably this is in Berryton.

There are, in Hillsborough Parish, in 1891, four John Wilson's. John H. (10), John H. (8), John May (19) and John W. (48.) John W. is John Wesley Wilson and his wife is 'Mahaley' (39.) John May is given as his son, and then crossed out. He is also female, Possibly he or she does not exist. John H. (8) is also John and Mahala's son. Their youngest child is Bertha A. age 1.John H. (10) I read as John M., s/o James and Jessie Wilson. Of the three remaining John Wilson's in Hillsborough Parish in 1891, only one could be the father of Alma Blanche Wilson, so she appears to have been, in fact, Bertha Alma Wilson d/o John Wesley and Mahala May (Cole) Wilson. and called Alma Bertha or Alma B.

This type of confusion is typical in Genealogy and I think they did it on purpose. John Wesley Wilson b. ca. 1843, 15OCT1841 or APR1842 is most likely the John Wilson (ca, 1844), s/o Ephraim (ca. 1810) and Ann (ca. 1816) Wilson in Hillsborough Parish in 1851. Ephraim's wife is said to have been Anne Collier. See:
